Siliguri: On 15th June 2022, Kawakhali traffic outpost was set up at Asian Highway to improve the traffic management. The area between Chauterhat, Medical More to Naukaghat falls under the jurisdiction of the said outpost. The main purpose of the outpost is to lessen the frequency of road accidents and improve the overall flow of traffic.
Mr. Gaurav Sharma IPS, Commissioner of Siliguri Police Commissionerate, inaugurated the new office building on 15.8.2022 on the occasion of the 75th Independence Day, in the presence of other Superior Officers and representatives of DESUN hospital who have built the new outpost. Helmets were distributed to the motorcyclists as part of the occasion.
The Bagdogra Traffic Guard shall command the overall functioning of the outpost. SI Mr. Rajiv Guha, is the officer-in-charge of Kawakhali Traffic Outpost and the outpost shall be functional 24×7.
