Siliguri: To address the need and offer support for basic education in Computer Operations and Cyber Awareness to the needy children, Siliguri Metropolitan Police has today launched the “E-Shikkha” project at Matigara Police Station with the help of Luxmi Township and Happy Hearts Academy.

Over here, the keen yet needy children of Biswas Colony, Matigara Girls High School shall be provided a basic course of 3 months in computer awareness, internet operations, and cyber frauds, on a continuous basis, at free of cost to help them become more resourceful and show them the right path.

Also, children of police personnel and some interested police personnel themselves shall also be trained simultaneously in various batches. Along with this, the voluntary elementary school in basic language learning shall be run for extremely poor kids of 5-10 years of age who have no access to formal education.

Siliguri Metropolitan Police is committed to standing by all our children on Computer Literacy Day and supports equal opportunity for all. In this age of digital revolution, no child should be ignorant or fearful about technology. We need to educate them and save them from drugs and other sinful activities. More such schools shall be set up under this novel project. Siliguri Metropolitan Police is thankful to all the good Samaritans who have supported us in this endeavor.
