Siliguri: On 29.8.2021 evening, a team of officers and men of Bhaktinagar Police Station was successful in nabbing a criminal with firearms and ammunition.
The criminal named Nitesh Sha was riding one Motorcycle bearing registration no.BR4 3 S /9667 was intercepted by the police team at Eastern Bypass Road.
On search one improvised firearm loaded with one round of live ammunition, was recovered from his person, which he had kept concealed under his waist.
Further on the search of the motorcycle, one more improvised firearm and two rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the luggage box of the said motorcycle.
Furthermore, leading to the confessional statement of the criminal Nitesh Sha, one more improvised firearm along with three rounds of live ammunition and one round of fired cartridge was recovered from his house, which he had kept concealed in the drawer of the dressing table in his bedroom. The recovered arms and ammunition have been seized along with the motorcycle.
A case under the relevant sections of the Arms Act is initiated at Bhaktinagar Police Station. Follow-up actions are being taken.
