Siliguri: On 23/07/2021 evening, acting on a tip-off, a team of Pradhanagar Police apprehended two veteran criminals namely Nickolas Tamang (22) s/o Prahalad Tamang of Bhutia Busty, Police Station Sadar Darjeeling District, and Crystal Chhetri (28) s/o Late Lal Bd. Chhetri of Daragaon, Police Station Tadong, East Sikkim District. P/A Gopalmore NJP Police Station District Jalpaiguri, from in front of SNT Bus Stand, Pradhan Nagar, Siliguri. The two were traveling in a scooty. On search, the police recovered and seized 16 bottles of Altorex Cough Syrup and 30 strips of Winsspasmo capsules, concealed beneath the seat of the scooty that they were traveling.
Both the accused persons have been arrested for having illegal possession of contraband drugs and taken into custody.
The accused Nickolas had previously escaped from Judicial Custody on 31/05/21, and a case to that effect is also pending against him at Siliguri Police Station.
Both the accused persons will be presented before the Ld Court tomorrow, and necessary follow-up actions are being taken.
