Siliguri: Today morning (27.07.2021), acting on a tip-off, the Police team of Matigara Police Station apprehended four drug peddlers namely Tapash Sarkar (M/28) S/O- Shyamal Sarkar, Biki Das (M/22) S/O- Bharat Das, Raju Mandal (M/20) S/O – Himangshu Mandal and Sanjit Roy (M/21) S/O- Sajal Roy all of Kawakhali, Neemtala, P.O- Sushrutanagar, Matigara Police Station, Darjeeling District from Kawakhali, Neemtala Matigara Police Station. They had assembled there with a bag full of contraband articles for selling the same at different places in Siliguri.
On search, the police recovered and seized 60 bottles of Lykarex Cough Syrup and “Corex” Cough Syrup, from their conscious possession, which was kept concealed in the said bag.
All four accused persons have been arrested for having an illegal procession of Codeine phosphate-based drug and taken into custody.
They have been presented before the Ld Court today, under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
Necessary follow-up actions are being taken.
