Siliguri: On 16.12.21 at about 4 pm acting on specific intelligence, officers and men of SOG SPC and NJP Police Station (with lady police personnel) detained three suspects at Kamrangaguri over the bridge under NJP Police Station.
The arrested accused were identified as Saniur Seikh (28) of Malda District, Ayesha Begam (38) of Uttar Dinajpur District, and Menoka Khatun (21) of Darjeeling District.
On search of their person, after observing proper formalities of the NDPS Act, in presence of an Executive Magistrate 700grams of Brown Sugar valued at Rs.1 Crore 40 Lakhs approximately was recovered from their joint possession which has been seized under proper seizure memo.
All the three accused persons have been arrested and taken into custody.
They are active members of a Drug Cartel involved in the illegal supply and sale of contraband drugs to the users in and around Siliguri.
A case under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act is being initiated at NJP PS.
