Siliguri: The Siliguri Police Commissionerate, has launched an initiative to assist its personnel working round the clock across the region to ensure and maintain law and order notwithstanding myriad challenges in these difficult times.
At the outset, a Canteen-on-Wheels has been refurbished and rolled out, for serving high quality, safe and hygienic food items to on-duty police personnel, who may have to miss home-cooked food given their dedication to the call of duty. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes have been made available hot & fresh at very nominal rates. The mobile canteen will service all the posts and outposts administered by the Commissionerate.
Another mobile vehicle, exclusively for policewomen on duty, has also been launched by the Siliguri Commissionerate. This vehicle serves as a Changing room cum Washroom for Women Police for on-duty female personnel.
Furthermore, an Ambulance service, comprising an ICU-equipment-fitted vehicle and two regular service ambulances, has been rolled out for the on-duty personnel to provide prompt medical assistance should the need arise.
