Aizawl: A meeting was held with stone quarry owners and explosive license holders within Aizawl District, organized by the Superintendent of Police (SP), Aizawl, on July 30, 2024, at 9:30 AM at the Conference Hall of MPSOA Guest House, Aizawl. The event was attended by 77 individuals. During the meeting, SP Aizawl, Pu Rahul Alwal, delivered a speech urging the attendees to operate their businesses in accordance with existing guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs). He emphasized that explosives should not be misused and must only be used for quarrying purposes, and he reminded everyone that using explosives without a license is illegal. He also appealed to the attendees to maintain proper stock registers and important documents and to cooperate with the authorities during audits or inspections. Additionally, SP Aizawl asked for cooperation from the attendees by providing necessary documents and stock registers during investigations related to explosive substances. He reminded all stone quarry owners and explosive license holders to renew their permits before they expire.
Some leaders of the Stone Quarry Owners Association also spoke during the meeting, highlighting the difficulties they face, particularly when trying to renew their licenses. They requested SP Aizawl to take necessary actions to address these issues.
