Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu: In a proactive step to strengthen border surveillance and prevent the smuggling of liquor from neighboring states, Cuddalore District Superintendent of Police S. Jayakumar, I.P.S., personally inspected the check posts at Alpettai and Kumthamedu situated along the district borders.
During the inspection, the Superintendent of Police reviewed the checking procedures being carried out by the personnel on duty. He examined whether vehicles were being thoroughly screened and verified the availability and proper functioning of essential infrastructure, including lighting facilities and surveillance cameras at the check posts.
Emphasizing the importance of strict vigilance, SP S. Jayakumar instructed officers to intensify vehicle checks and ensure that the smuggling of illegal liquor is completely prevented. He also stressed the need for continuous monitoring and coordinated efforts to maintain law and order in the district.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Tamilinian and Police Inspector Mr. Chanduru were present during the inspection.
