Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: With a focus on the overall welfare of police families, Tirunelveli District Superintendent of Police Shri V. Prasanna Kumar, I.P.S, inaugurated the special training forum “Dhan Porunai Police Manamagizh Mandram” at the Palayamkottai District Armed Forces Complex on 10.02.2026 at 6.00 pm.
The initiative has been launched to promote the physical, mental and intellectual development of children of police personnel serving in Tirunelveli district. Under this forum, structured training in Silambam, Yoga, Chess, Volleyball, Cricket, Tailoring and other skill-based activities will be conducted twice a week. Additional programmes will be introduced in a phased manner.
Addressing the gathering, the Superintendent of Police stated that police welfare extends beyond service conditions to include family well-being and happiness, and such initiatives play a vital role in nurturing balanced growth among police families. He emphasized that strengthening families strengthens the force itself.
More than 50 children participated in the inaugural session. Police personnel and their families appreciated the District Police leadership for introducing a meaningful welfare initiative for their children.
The event was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police Shanmugam (CWC), Deputy Superintendent of Police K. Subramanian, District Special Branch Inspector P. Muthu, and Armed Reserve Inspector T. Sujatha, along with other officers and staff.
