Kasaragod, Kerala, July 12: In a strong demonstration of proactive policing and commitment to public safety, the Kasaragod District Police, under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Shri B.V. Vijaya Bharat Reddy, IPS, conducted a comprehensive special drive across the district. The operation resulted in numerous cases being registered and significant enforcement action taken against violators of various laws.
The multi-pronged drive focused on crime prevention, warrant execution, law enforcement, and strengthening public safety measures. The results of the drive included:
- 1,646 vehicles checked for compliance with traffic and registration norms
- 105 pending warrants executed, bringing several offenders to justice
- 61 individuals from the district goonda list verified for ongoing surveillance
- 67 suspects detained for questioning after being found in suspicious circumstances
- 31 cases registered for drunk driving, reflecting strict enforcement of road safety laws
- 8 cases registered under the NDPS Act for possession and transport of narcotics
- 5 cases filed under the Explosives Act, strengthening vigilance on dangerous materials
- 5 illegal quarries identified and flagged for legal action
- 45 cases booked under various Special Acts for violations of different regulatory laws
- 45 hotels and lodges inspected to ensure compliance with security and guest verification protocols
This large-scale operation reflects the district police’s unwavering dedication to maintaining law and order, ensuring citizen safety, and preventing illegal activities across sectors.
SP B.V. Vijaya Bharat Reddy emphasized that such special drives will continue regularly and warned that strict legal action will be taken against any individual or establishment violating the law. He also urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement and report any suspicious activities.
