Mr. CV Anand, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, stated that the 2025 Annual Sports & Games Meet features 14 contingents competing across 24 different sports and games. He encouraged police personnel to draw inspiration from Indian badminton stars Saina Nehwal and P. Kashyap, who have excelled in their field despite facing immense pressure.

For the first time, 14 teams from various city police departments are participating in the Hyderabad City Police Sports Games Meet. The Commissioner extended his gratitude to Saina Nehwal and P. Kashyap for accepting the invitation and expressed appreciation for their presence. He emphasized the importance of making the Police Sports and Games Meet an annual event and dismissed the notion that participation in sports is a waste of time. He highlighted that engaging in sports helps boost motivation and enhances skills. Due to the increased number of participants, this year’s event will be conducted over four days.

“I am also a sports enthusiast. If I bat, I aim to score a century; if I run, I strive to win a gold medal in the hundred meters. Losing in games keeps me awake at night,” the Commissioner remarked, emphasizing the need for competitiveness and perseverance.

The Police Commissioner congratulated the enthusiastic participants and organizers, urging talented players to prepare for the upcoming state-level games. He stressed that winning or losing is secondary to showcasing one’s talent in sports, which contributes to physical strength and helps manage work-related stress.

Parupalli Kashyap acknowledged the demanding nature of police work and encouraged participation in sports to maintain health and alertness. He advised the police force to prioritize fitness.

Saina Nehwal expressed her love for all types of sports and shared her pride in representing India. She noted that India is home to many talented individuals and emphasized the importance of sports for fitness and mental freshness. She expressed her happiness at being part of the event and encouraged everyone to engage in sports.

The event was attended by senior officials, including Vikram Singh Mann, IPS, Additional CP Law and Order; P. Vishwa Prasad, IPS, Additional CP Traffic; Rakshita Krishna Murthy, IPS, DCP CAR Headquarters, Hyderabad; along with other zonal and wing DCPs and police personnel who participated in the sports activities.
