Andhra Pradesh, Srikakulam: In line with the directives of Srikakulam District SP Sri KV Maheshwara Reddy IPS, police officers and staff conducted an extensive outreach program across multiple villages under the Determination initiative. The objective of this initiative was to create awareness among the public about critical social issues, including the significance of the Shakti App for women’s safety, the devastating consequences of drug abuse, the increasing risks of cybercrimes, crimes against women and children, and the rising number of road accidents in these areas.
During the awareness campaign, police officials interacted with villagers, educating them on the functionalities of the Shakti App and how it can be used in emergencies to seek immediate assistance. They highlighted real-life incidents demonstrating the dangers of substance abuse, emphasizing how drug addiction ruins lives, leads to criminal activities, and negatively impacts families and society.
Additionally, officers provided crucial information on the latest methods used by cybercriminals to deceive people, urging villagers to remain cautious while using digital platforms, avoid sharing personal information, and report any suspicious activities. Special attention was given to educating women and children about self-protection measures and the importance of reporting any harassment or violence.
Furthermore, discussions were held regarding road safety, emphasizing the importance of following traffic rules, wearing helmets and seat belts, and avoiding reckless driving to prevent fatal accidents. Villagers were strongly encouraged to adopt safe practices, remain vigilant against criminal activities, and contribute to building a safer and more responsible community.
This initiative, spearheaded by the district police, aims to foster a well-informed society where individuals are empowered to safeguard themselves against various threats, ensuring a secure and crime-free environment.
