Andhra Pradesh, Srikakulam: In a concerted effort to curb the illegal storage and transportation of narcotic substances such as marijuana and other drugs, the Srikakulam District Police, under the directives of District SP Sri KV Maheshwara Reddy, IPS, intensified inspection operations across the region.
Acting on the instructions, specialized police teams, under the supervision of the Sub-Inspector, carried out extensive searches with the assistance of trained dog squad units. These operations were strategically conducted at key locations, including vehicles, warehouses, pawnshops, parcel service centers, and grocery stores, where illicit drug activities are often suspected.
The police personnel meticulously examined storage facilities and transit points to detect any hidden contraband. The canine units, known for their high accuracy in identifying narcotic substances, played a crucial role in ensuring a thorough screening process.
This initiative is part of the district police’s continuous crackdown on drug-related offenses, reinforcing their commitment to eliminating illegal drug trade networks and ensuring a safer environment for the community. Authorities have assured that such surprise inspections will continue as part of their sustained vigilance against drug trafficking.
