Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh: As per the directions of District Superintendent of Police Sri K.V. Maheshwara Reddy, IPS, a series of awareness programs are being conducted across the district under the “Nari Shakti” and “Sankalpam” initiatives.
Police officers and staff are organizing sessions in various colleges, schools, and villages to educate women and students on important safety topics including good touch and bad touch, POCSO Act, cybercrimes, drug abuse prevention, and self-protection techniques.
The awareness programs also focus on introducing the public to essential emergency helpline numbers, such as:
* Dial 112 – Emergency Response Support System
* 1098 – Child Helpline
* 181 – Women Helpline
* 1930 – Cyber Crime Helpline (to report online fraud)
* 1972 – Eagle Helpline
These programs aim to empower women and children, enhance awareness of legal protections, and ensure that citizens know how to seek help in emergencies.
