Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, August 22: District Superintendent of Police Sri K.V. Maheshwara Reddy, IPS, has announced that it is mandatory to obtain online permissions for setting up Ganesh pandals and mandapams in connection with the upcoming Vinayaka Chavithi celebrations on August 27.
The SP explained that festival organizers should form committees and apply through the government’s single-window online system ([https://ganeshutsav.net](https://ganeshutsav.net)) to secure necessary approvals for pandals, processions, and immersion programs. This system has been designed to make the process simple, transparent, and hassle-free for the public.
Importantly, no fees will be charged for setting up mandapams, the SP clarified. He appealed to all organizers and devotees to cooperate with the police department by adhering to the prescribed guidelines, ensuring that the celebrations are conducted in a peaceful and harmonious manner without any disturbances.
SP Maheshwara Reddy emphasized that the police department is fully committed to supporting the smooth conduct of the festival and sought the active participation of the public in maintaining law and order.
