Srinagar: Police in Srinagar have cracked down on 2 theft cases by arresting three accused and seizing lakhs worth of stolen property from them.
On 3.2.2022, the police station Khanyar received a written complaint from a man that some unidentified thieves had stolen gold jewelry and cash from his residence in Khilafah Pora Khanyar.
Accordingly, the police station has registered an FIR. The case has been registered as of 03/2022 and an investigation is underway.
During the investigation, the authorities arrested 2 suspects identified as Umar Gulzar Wadu of Babapora Habakadal and Shakeel Ahmed Shah of Kailashpora. When officers spoke to them they became aware of their involvement in the Crime Commission. Upon their discovery, the stolen items were recovered 1 gold coin (2 pounds), 2 gold chains, 2 pendants, a pair of tops, a pair of earrings, a pair of rings, and 2 bangles worth about Rs.3 lakh.
Similarly, Rajbagh police station has cracked a case of vehicle theft by arresting the accused identified as Intiaz Ahmed Shah, son of GH Qadir Shah of Khanyar. The stolen vehicle Wagon R was recovered on his revelation. The vehicle was stolen in the Jawahar Nagar area of Srinagar.
The Police said, “Our efforts should reassure members of the community that the police are determined to crack down on criminals”.
