Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Pradesh Police has imposed a crackdown on public drinking. Special attention is being given towards curbing issues & accidents due to alcohol and the police are taking strict action against people who are drinking in public. In the past 15 days, Visakhapatnam Police has lodged 1063 cases and 185 FIRs on people who were drinking in public. Laying down inspections in the night with a special focus on motorists driving under the influence, using breath analyzers, the Visakhapatnam Police lodged cases on 76 individuals & imposed fines on others. The Andhra Pradesh Police appeals to the public to drive safely and not drink in public places.
