Karimganj: The Border Security Force (BSF) and Karimganj Police in a joint operation seized Burmese supari worth Rs.1 crore was from a truck on Sunday.
A total of 16,907 kilograms of Burmese supari was seized upon intercepting a truck bearing the registration number NL-01AB-8938 in Badarpur area of Assam’s Karimganj who was heading towards Guwahati.
Mr. Partha Protim Das IPS, Superintendent of Police (SP), Karimganj said that during the joint search operation by the BSF and Karimganj Police they have recovered 16,907 kilograms of Burmese Supari from a truck and arrested the truck driver who was identified as Samsuddin. The market value of the seized Burmese Supari is estimated to be about Rs.1 crore.
