Rachakonda: Commissioner Sudhir Babu IPS declared a firm stance against the transportation and usage of drugs in Rachakonda Commissionerate, emphasizing a proactive approach. A procedural seminar and workshop on NDPS cases took place at GSI Auditorium, Bandlaguda, where inspectors and higher-level officials received a handbook manual to aid in investigating prohibited drug cases.
During the program, Commissioner Sudhir Babu stated that the prevalence of prohibited drugs is akin to a societal pest and must be eradicated. Officials were instructed to implement stringent measures to combat drug trafficking and consumption within Rachakonda Commissionerate. Apart from routine check post inspections, specialized SOT teams were formed to conduct operations, resulting in numerous cases filed against ganja, opium, heroin, and other prohibited drug supply gangs. The commissioner recommended suppressing inter-state drug supply gangs and registering cases against them under the PD Act.
Highlighting the detrimental impact of drugs on the youth’s future and overall well-being, the Commissioner urged students to resist the allure of prohibited drugs and other intoxicants. He mentioned ongoing raids on narcotics transportation, numerous arrests, and strict enforcement. Authorities were advised to conduct awareness campaigns in colleges to educate youth about the perils of drug use.
Participating in the program were Malkajigiri DCP Ms. D. Janaki IPS, Maheshwaram DCP Mr. Srinivas IPS, ST DCP Mr. Giridhar IPS, LB Nagar DCP Sai KG, DCP Muralidhar, and other inspector-level officers.
