Bhadradri Kothagudem: Today on 29. 6. 2022 banned CPI Maoist party member of Charla Platoon (BK-EG committee), Sodi Kosa S/o Mooka, age: 17 years, resident of Chennapuram, Charla Mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem District surrendered before the Superintendent of Police, Bhadradri Kothagudem.
Sodi Kosa was a minor (14years) when he was forcefully joined in the Maoist militia team in 2019. Cherla Militia Commander Vetti Deva alias Balu took him forcefully to work for the Maoist party. In 2020, he was promoted to Dalam member and worked with Cherla LGS under Madhu, DVC.
Maoist party leaders have been forcefully taking minor children of Aadivasi’s in the border villages of Cherla, Sukma and Bijapur to work for the Maoist party.
Maoist leadership engages these minor children in menial jobs, washing clothes, carrying luggage etc. Later they are given weapon training. It is clear that Maoist party is violating child rights.
With the constant efforts of the local Police in motivating the parents of minor UG cadre & Community policing in the tribal areas, many of the UG cadre including minors had surrendered before the Police and many are willing to leave the Maoist party to live better life.
We appeal to all the Dalam members and militia members to contact any relatives or Police to surrender and live a better life.
