Rachakonda: Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat IPS, Commissioner of Police Rachakonda launched Swasthya Seva – a program aimed at providing food to children, elders, and mentally challenged persons in orphanages, old age homes, and special homes. Food will also be provided to long-distance heavy vehicle drivers on Highways.
CP Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat IPS interacting with the media at Abhi Sai Datta Child Home, Uppal where he launched the program, stated that Rachakonda Police has adopted 18 orphanages and old age homes and will be distributing one meal to them for two months. He stated that these homes face a lot of problems in the crisis and such a program is aimed at not only looking after their physical health through providing good lunch but also by such philanthropists visiting them, they would feel happy and connected with the society and hence the program is named Swasthya Seva
The CP stated that during the first wave also, Rachakonda Police adopted nearly 77 homes of several kinds with nearly 2876 inmates have been served with food and dry ration throughout the lockdown period with the help of several NGOs.
CP Rachakonda thanked Haryana Nagrik Sangh who along with Agarwal Samaj, HNS Chikitsalay, HNS Corona team have come forward to partner with Rachakonda Police in this benignant activity. “Hands which help others are holier than lips that pray” He especially appreciated Sandeep Mittal who gave 5 computers and 1 water cooler to the Home and Sri Kumar Agarwal who on behalf of DRS International School declared that he would sponsor Rs.60, 000 per term for 3 years to the children of the Home and also admit 2 kids from the Home into 11th and 12th standards and provide free education. CP commended the activities of Haryana Nagrik Samaj and stated that the philanthropists came and settled all the way from Haryana to Telangana and serving the needy people here.
Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat IPS along with guests served the lunch to the nearly 30 kids of the Home and interacted with the kids.
