Villupuram, Tamil Nadu: In a remarkable display of efficiency and commitment, the Villupuram Police successfully recovered a handbag containing 18 sovereigns of gold jewellery and a laptop within just 30 minutes of the complaint being lodged, bringing immense relief to the owner.
Prashanth (30) of Lakshmipuram, Tambaram, had stopped for refreshments at an ‘Amma Tea Shop’ near Tindivanam while returning from a family function in Tiruvannamalai. After resuming his journey, he realized that he had accidentally left his handbag containing the valuables at the shop and immediately alerted the police.
Responding without delay, Special Assistant Inspector Mr. Manickavasagar and Head Constable Mr. Velmurugan of Highway Patrol No. 1 rushed to the location and conducted a thorough inquiry. Their swift efforts helped trace the bag exactly where it had been left.
The recovered bag, along with the gold jewellery and laptop, was later officially handed over to the owner in the presence of Roshanai Police Station Inspector Mrs. Dharaneswari.
A visibly relieved Prashanth and his family expressed heartfelt gratitude to the police for their prompt and dedicated action, which ensured that the expensive valuables were safely restored. The public also appreciated the exemplary response of the Villupuram Police, reinforcing confidence in the department’s commitment to public safety.
