Task Force Dismantles Prostitution

Hyderabad: The sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Team, in collaboration with the local police, acted on credible information to dismantle an organized prostitution and immoral trafficking racket within the limits of the Panjagutta Police Station. They apprehended (02) main organizers, (03) sub-organizers, and (01) customer, while rescuing (06) female victims.

The accused persons were identified as K. Surya Kumari with various other names such as Varsha, Mudise Surya Kumari, Anjali, Pagada Anjali, Dasari Anjali, Chiiti, Kumari, Rani, Pallavi, Rajani, Lakshmi (Main Organizer), w/o Venkat Reddy, 38 years, residing Ameerpet; K. Vijaya Sekhar Reddy (Main Organizer), s/o K. Gurumurthy Reddy, 49 years, residing in Ameerpet, Hyderabad, native of Tirupati; Arkojit Mukherjee (Sub-Organizer), s/o Bhiswajit Mukherjee, 30 years, native of West Bengal, residing in Balkampet; Venugopal Balaji (Sub-Organizer), 50 years, residing in Tirupati; and Kilaru Kirthi Teja (Customer), s/o K. Pradeep, 29 years, residing in Manikonda.

The accused K. Surya Kumari and K. Vijaya Sekhar Reddy are habitual organizers of prostitution and immoral trafficking. K. Surya Kumari, a native of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, has previously been involved in 16 cases registered under the PITA Act. In 2020, the PD Act was invoked against her by Rachakonda Police for engaging in illegal activities.

In the current case, the accused were found to have been recruiting women victims from various states, including Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and Tripura, and housing them in different lodges or individual houses across the West Zone area. Shekar Reddy created a database of customers through online platforms, contacting them and arranging for female victims to meet them at the customer’s desired location or booking a lodge for meetings. Surya Kumari used various payment methods and logins to transact with customers, thereby concealing her identity.

Acting on credible information, a room at Park Hotel within Punjagutta PS limits was raided, and the accused Kirthi Teja was apprehended along with a victim. Further raids on locations housing the victims led to the arrest of the main organizers and sub-organizers as detailed above. Further investigation is underway.

The police seized Net Cash of Rs 89,500/-, Vehicles: Four Wheelers – 02 & Two Wheelers – 03, 18 Cell Phones, Lenovo Laptops – 02 (used in the commission of the offence), Tablets – 02 (used in the commission of the offence), Debit/Credit Cards of various banks – 45, Passbooks of various banks – 03, Cheque Book – 01, Cheques – 22, SIM Cards – 05, Aadhar Cards – 25, PAN Cards – 7 from the possession of the accused persons.

A case has been registered against them under PITA Act at Panjagutta Police Station. The public is cautioned to be vigilant when renting their properties and to verify the antecedents of tenants. Citizens of Hyderabad are encouraged to inform the police about any information regarding illegal trafficking and prostitution in their area.

This operation was carried out by the West Zone Task Force Inspector, E. Jangaiah, along with SI N. Ranjith Kumar, SI G. Naveen, SI Arvind Goud, and their staff, in collaboration with Punjagutta police.
