Hyderabad/New Delhi: Indian Shuttler P V Sindhu who won a silver medal in the ongoing Rio Olympics has Telengana celebrating her victory, the state government has announced a cash award of Rs 1 crore for the sportswoman. Sindhu wrote history by bagging the silver in women’s singles competition at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro on 19 August. Badminton Association of India (BAI) President Dr Akhilesh Das Gupta also announced a cash award of Rs 50 lakh for Sindhu. A cash award of RS 10 lakh for national badminton coach Pullela Gopichand, who trained Sindhu to achieve this was also announced by Das Gupta. Also Madhya Pradesh government announced a cash award of Rs 50 lakh.
