Lucknow: In Lucknow, the personnel of the Anti-Terrorists Squad arrested a youth and his conduit from Shamli for their involvement in supplying arms and ammunition to Khalistani terror groups.
According to an ATS communication released on Saturday evening, the investigating officers received a piece of discreet information that Raj Singh of Jalalpur in the Babri area of Shamli was engaged in supplying arms and ammunition to Khalistani ultra groups.
On receiving the information the ATS team set a trap for Raj Singh in Shamli on Saturday morning. The trap was effective in nabbing Singh’s aide and neighbor who was identified as Asif. On nabbing the accused the ATS officials recovered a .32 bore, .315 bore revolvers and half a dozen live cartridges from their possession.
The ATS team claimed that Raj Singh was also wanted by the Mohali police in Punjab for supplying explosives to insurgent forces.
A case was registered and the two were being interrogated by the officials to extract further inputs.
