Jammu and Kashmir: In order to provide help to the families of the police personal who have passed away in harness, the Director-General of Police Mr.Dilbagh Singh IPS has sanctioned Rs.1.2 Crore as special Welfare Relief in favor of dependents/legal heirs of 6 such deceased police personal.
The special welfare relief of 20m Lakh each has been sanctioned n favor of dependents/legal heirs of 6 deceased police personal. Out of this Rs.1 Lakh each was already paid to the families/NoKs for preforming the last rites as immediate relief by the concerned units.
The financial assistance has been given out of contributory police welfare fund. The DGP has also sanctioned Rs.25 Lakh special relief out of SPOs contributory welfare fund in favor of NOKs of 5 SPOs who have died during the course of their engagement in the police.
