Kochi: The Customs Air Intelligence Unit on Thursday while making the checks on passengers came across a passenger with a consignment of gold that was weighing 1.5Kgs and was worth around Rs.51 lakh. On conducting the investigation about his possession of gold, the accused was not able to provide the valid papers supporting his possession and so the customs authorities arrested the person and seized the consignment that he was he possessed. This was the fourth incident of seizure of high quantity gold in the past three days at the airport.
