Trichy: On 20.8.2022, at 11.30 pm in front of Naganathar tea shop in Thiruvannaikoku, information was received that three youths who came on a two-wheeler stole Anand’s mobile phone from Anand, who works at the Seventeenth Restaurant. Mr. G. Karthikeyan, IPS, who immediately issued orders to the police officers on night duty, patrolling police officers and police patrol vehicles to nab the persons involved in the robbery through Walkie Talkie.
Following the orders of the Commissioner of Police, Trichy, the police on night duty in Trichy acted swiftly, checking vehicles at major junctions and mounted up intensive surveillance at checkpoints.
In this case, when the three persons who were involved in the said robbery incident snatched the cell phone from a person who was waiting for the bus at the central bus station and tried to escape on a two-wheeler, the C.U.A. who was on patrol and surveillance duty there Mr. Bhaskar, Head Constables Mr. David Solomon, Mr. Senthil and Mr. Joseph Sakayaraj caught the cell phone robbers on the spot and arrested them. Also the two-wheeler used in the robbery and a total of 4 cell phones stolen from various places were seized and the accused namely Wigneswaran, Ajayraj were booked and sent to judicial custody.
Trichy Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mr. G. Karthikeyan, IPS, highly praised the police officers who acted quickly and arrested the people involved in the robbery incident and awarded them certificates for their meritorious work.
