Rachakonda: The Rachakonda SHE-Teams booked 140 cases which consist of 90 FIRS, 44 petty cases, and 6 counseling against eve-teasers in the last six months and apprehended 117 respondent eve-teasers, out of 105 majors and 12 minors. The respondent eve-teasers have attended the counseling session conducted by Rachakonda SHE teams, at the Commissioner Camp office, Nagole, LB Nagar, along with their family members and they have been counseled by the professional counselors from the Bhumika Women’s Collective (NGO). The children in conflict with the law will also be counseled by professional psychiatrist Dr. Vasavi to bring change in their behavior.
The few important cases that have been handled by the Rachakonda SHE-Teams are given below:
- This is a case of cheating of a teacher by the name of love by her colleague. One 30 years old woman working in a private school as a teacher at Nacharam limits wherein the accused Maloth Rama Rao Jadav son of Maloth Shankar, aged 30 years resident of Mardi Thanda Kalher Mandal. Sangareddy has also been working as PET Teacher in the same school and he proposed several times his love for her and promising her that he will marry her. By believing him she went to his room situated at Beerappagadda, Mallapur and he promised her that he will marry her soon and had sexual intercourse on several occasions. She asked him to marry, but the accused refused to marry and left her. On her complaint registered a case U/s 376(2){n), 417, 493 IPC at Nacharam Police Station. The accused was arrested and remanded.
- This is a case of Kidnap and rape on a girl by 3 persons: On 07-09-2020 at 11-15 One 19 years old girl went to Tata Aerospace at Nadergul to meet her friends, after she came Balapur, near Lenin Nagar and while she was on the road and after some time while she was walking and while boarding an unknown auto at that time two accused persons A1: Sampangi Suresh son of Sampangi Laxmaiah, Age: 20 years, Occupation: Labour and A2: Alampally Nithish son of Narasimha Age, 19 years, Occupation: Student, both resident of Lenin Nagar, Balapur village and Mandal, Ranga Reddy district also boarded in the same auto and misbehaved with her. After they got down from the auto, they demanded her to sit on their motorcycle, and they moved from that location and took her away to Lenin Nagar under Tank which was an isolated location, and detained her, then forcefully committed rape on the victim girl. Then on 08-09-2020 at about 330 hours to 04-00 hours, the Juvenile boy came to the Indrasena Reddy Nagar colony. Nandanavanam, Meerpet village Balapur Mandal, Ranga Reddy district and brought two Haywards beers and forced her to drink and they also consumed and the juvenile also forcefully committed rape on the victim. On her mother’s complaint registered a case U/Sec 376 D, 363, 342 R/w 34 IPC at Adibatla Police Station. The accused were arrested and remanded.
- This is a case of Sexual harassment to a lady advocate by the client. One 35 years old woman working as an advocate spread her contact mobile number through Just dial for needy clients. The accused M. Durga Prasad son of Laxmaian, aged 27 years, Occupation: Part-time employee to Lingala village, Atchampet, Nagarkurnool got her mobile number and called her. He has some legal issues in the court and he required advocate to argue his case in the court, by saying that he took her WhatsApp mobile number to send documents, after that he started harassing her by sending porn videos and photos and harassed her sexually. On her complaint, registered a case U/S 354(D), 509 of IPC, and section:67(A) of IT Act at the Cybercrime Police Station. The accused was arrested and remanded.
- This is a case of Stalking in the name of Love to a minor girl. The minor girl who is 17 years old is studying intermediate. The accused Darakatiya Vivek Lal son of Narsing Lal, Aged 21 years, resident of Meena Nagar, Bhongir, has been following her for the past one year while she has been going and returning from College. She rejected and refused him, but the accused didn’t change his attitude instead started harassing her to love and marry him. On 09-08-2020 at about 09:30 am while she has been going to shop for buying a milk packet, the accused followed and abused her in a filthy language. He threatened her with dire consequences that if she will not marry him, he will kill her and after then he will die. On her father’s complaint registered a case U/S 354(D),506 IPC, Sec 12 of POCSO Act-2012 at Bhongir Town PS. The accused was arrested and remanded.
The Decoy Operations conducted by our SHE teams:
1) Kushaiguda SHE Team: On 16-07-2020 at evening hours our She team Kushaiguda conducted a Decoy operation at the ECIL bus stop opposite lane wherein they apprehended 03 minor boys while they were sitting and passing the lewd comments and doing indecent movements to the girls. They were counseled at Kushaiguda Police Station.
2.Malkajgiri SHE Team: On 26-08-2020 She team Malkajgiri conducted a decoy operation at Chengicherla lake in View of Ganesh immersion and apprehended three Minor boys who were roaming on a bike and teasing the female Devotees. They were counseled at Medipally Police Station.
3.Bhongir SHE Team: The She team Bhongir conducted a Decoy operation at Bhongir Bus stand and apprehended the one respondent while creating a nuisance and roaming on a motorcycle and passing lewd comments. The accused was booked with a petty case at Bhongir Town Police Station.
The Child marriages that were stopped by Rachakonda She teams are as follows:
The Rachakonda She teams under the Leadership of Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, and with the cooperation of the self- help groups conducted awareness programs among the common people in Prohibition of Child Marriages. In this awareness program, the She Teams Rachakonda made the public understand the problems of child marriages and child marriages alarming in rural areas.
As a success of the above awareness programs in the last six months, the Rachakonda She teams stopped 08 child marriages
1) Choutuppal -01,
2) Bhongir 01,
3) Ibrahimpatnam-02,
4) Kushaiguda 02 and
5) Vanasthalipuram-02.
As of today a total of 82 Child marriages were stopped by Rachakonda She Teams and rescued 82 minor girls from the Social evil (child marriages) which were planned to be performed at different places by their parents.
The Rachakonda She Teams dealt with 46 Domestic Violence Cases. During the lockdown period, 46 Domestic Violence Cases were reported by the She teams Rachakonda and we conducted counseling for all the couples and settled their problems and reunited the families.
In addition to the above, in the last six months total 117 Eve teasers were caught by Rachakonda SHE teams in decoy operations and through WhatsApp/SMUC complaints from different areas of Rachakonda while they were teasing girls at different Hotspots like Metro train/ junctions/ Bus stops/Working Places and colleges of the Rachakonda area. All the accused are booked under petty cases/FIRs and counseled by professional counselors of “Bhumika Women’s Collective” in the presence of their family members. Minors will be counseled by Chief Consultant Psychologist.
