Nagpur: The Sakkardara police patrol team rescued a boy aged 14 who is a resident of Om Nagar who had ran away from home following a fight with his younger sister on Saturday. The boy was identified as Prince Alias Rishikesh Mahesh Machle. He was reunited with his family because of the quick action taken by the city police. The massive search operation undertaken by the police personal yielded the result. Prince was spotted by the police patrol team near the Sakkardara police station on Saturday night as he was wandering in the area and he was taken to the police station.
The Sakkardara police initially undertook a manhunt as per the procedure devised by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone-IV, Mr.Raj Tilak Roushan. The police team searched the railway station, bus stand and other popular locales but was not successful. The police also investigated his friends and relatives. The police then investigated with the night watchman near Sakkardara Lake and he confirmed with the police that he had seen the boy wandering around the area and said that the boy was last seen moving in direction of police station. On the information, the police rushed and they came across the boy who identified himself as Prince and he told the police about the fight he had with his younger sister.
The DCP Mr. Roushan who had won recognition advised his staff about the method to be taken to trace runaway kids. He told them that they should take all details and that will help in faster tracing of runaway kids. The first thing that he told them to do is to register an offence.
The police team comprising of Sub-Inspector Mr. Digamber Rathod, Constable Mr. Pramod, Woman Police Constable (WPC) Ms.Kiran, Head Constable Mr. Arun, Naik Police Constable (NPC) Mr. Shalikram and driver Mr. HC Ganesh Wasu were involved in the task and they finally managed to track down the teenager. Mr. Naresh Kumbhare, security guard on duty at ESIC Hospital provided the lead to the police team. After the police conformed about the teenager, his mother was informed and the family was reunited. Jyoti Gedam (30) had gone to Umrer earlier in the afternoon when she received call from her daughter, Anjali (12) who contacted her on mobile phone and informed about the tiff with Prince. When she rebuked Prince, the teenager took offence and ran away from home.
