TANJORE: When Sumathirai along with his son went to Coimbatore for a medical checkup on January 24 at a private hospital their neighbours noticed the door of Sumathirai’s house broken open. The neighbours then alerted Kathiresan, the sonin-law of Sumathirai who has been living in the same village, Kathiresan rushed to the spot and found the bureaus in two rooms of the houses broken. Police said, after Sumathirai returned to Thiruvaiyaru on Thursday and inspected all her belongings and said that nearly 150 sovereigns, silver articles and Rs. 2.5 lakhs cash kept in the almirah were missing. Tiruvaiyaru Police started the investigations in to the incident after Sumathirai gave a complaint. ]]>
