Thiruvarur, Tamil Nadu, October 30, 2025: In a proactive initiative to promote public awareness on women’s and children’s safety, the Thiruvarur District Police organized an awareness campaign on cybercrime, child protection, and women’s safety at Ammaiyappan Government Higher Secondary School today.
The programme was held under the directions of Thiruvarur District Superintendent of Police Mr. Karun Karat, I.P.S., and led by the District Cyber Crime Police Inspector. The session focused on educating students about safe internet practices, identifying online frauds, and understanding laws related to women and child protection.
Students were also sensitized about the importance of reporting cyber offences, helpline numbers such as 1930 for cybercrime complaints and 1098 for child-related emergencies, and the role of police in ensuring safety and justice.
The initiative is part of Thiruvarur Police’s ongoing efforts to empower youth through awareness and preventive education, thereby building a safer and more informed community.
