Manipur, Churachandpur, April 28, 2025: In a decisive move to curb illegal activities in the region, intelligence-based combing operations and cordon-and-search operations have been intensively conducted in Churachandpur District, targeting individuals involved in extortion and illegal cross-border activities.
On April 28, 2025, security forces successfully arrested three individuals affiliated with the Chin Kuki Mizo Army (CKMA), who were reportedly engaged in facilitating drug transactions across the Myanmar border. The arrests were made near the IMB border under Beihiang Police Station jurisdiction.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
Lunkhohau (48) from Kuwan, Sangaikot, Churachandpur District,
Jamhon Haokip (30) from Leajangphai, Churachandpur District,
Ngamboi Mate (28) from Laijang, Churachandpur District.
During the operation, a significant cache of arms and ammunition was recovered, including:
1 AK-47 rifle (7.62 mm), 1 country-made 9 mm pistol, 1 country-made 0.22 mm Single Shot Rifle, 2 AK-47 magazines (7.62 mm), 1 magazine for the 9 mm pistol, 50 live rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, 5 live rounds of 9 mm ammunition, 15 live rounds of 0.22 mm ammunition, 3 Baofeng radio sets, 2 mobile phones, 2 Khukris (traditional knives), 2 Kenbo bikes, 2 pairs of sunglasses, Rs.630 in cash, and 1 watch and 1 Aadhaar card.
