Rachakonda: In an effort to provide safety and security to the businessmen and general public from anti-social elements within the limits of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, C.P. Rachakonda invoked the PD Act against three gang members who are extorting money from businessmen by posing as gangsters and putting the victims in fear of accusation them in false cases in the limits of Rachakonda and detained them in Central Prison, Cherlapally.
Basing on the technical evidence, identified the offenders as Sandepally Kranthi Kumar(23), Sandepalli Simhadri(19), and Sangi Jashwan(21), and Yadagirigutta Police arrested them on 3-7-2021 and remanded to judicial custody. Police recovered cell phones, Activa bike which was used in the commission of offenses from their possession.
The accused Sandepally Kranthi Kumar, hailed from Yadadri, has been running add agency in Uppal, and as such he is having an acquaintance with many businessmen/Politicians in the Yadadri area. The Sandepalli Simhadri is the brother of Sandepally Kranthi Kumar while Sangi Jashwan is the friend of Sandepalli Simhadri. The duo assists Sandepally Kranthi Kumar in his ad business. The trio hatched a plan to threaten businessmen/politicians in the Yadadri area and extort huge money from them. Initially, they committed theft of a Micro Max cell phone having SIM No: 9554795336 from a fruit vendor in Tarnaka and started calling from said SIM number, threatening the victims and demanding for paying money posing themselves as gangsters. They also bought knives in the Chenchalguda area in order to threaten the victim physically if they resist them. In order to earn quick money, they hatched a plan in a different way that, they have opened accounts on social media, posted girls photos after downloading them from the internet, and later induced the complainant/victims to enter into obscene Whatsapp chat projecting as women, persuaded them to send their private -21 images, and later blackmailed them for paying money in pretext of foisting them in Police cases.
Thus, the accused threatened businessmen in the Alair area and a local politician in Yadagirigutta. Some of the victims are not coming forward to complain to Police. Based on complaints from victims, 2 cases for the charges of extortions. arming deadly weapons have been registered in Yadagirigutta, Alair and as part of the investigation, Police examined CDRs and other technical evidence, identified the gang, and arrested them on 3-7-2021.
With a view to prevent them from indulging in such criminal activities and to preserve public order, Mr. Mahesh M Bhagwat, IPS Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda invoked detention orders under PD Act against three of them and lodged them in Central Prison, Cherlapally.
