Thrissur Rural, Kerala: The Thrissur Rural Police have put in place comprehensive and multi-layered security arrangements for the grand Arattupuzha Pooram, scheduled from March 24 to March 30 at the Arattupuzha Sree Shasta Temple.
Recognized as the “Mahasangama of Deities,” the festival will witness participation from 23 temples and attract thousands of devotees and art lovers. Key attractions include the grand Kootiyezhunnallam featuring around 50 elephants and the sacred Aratt ceremony marking the conclusion.
To ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the celebrations, security has been strategically divided into three zones, under the leadership of B. Krishnakumar. Advanced systems such as drone surveillance, CCTV monitoring, and 24-hour control rooms have been deployed across the temple premises.
Key security measures include:
* Continuous mobile and bike patrols
* Deployment of mufti police for intelligence gathering
* Pink Police presence to ensure women’s safety
* DANSAF teams for anti-narcotics surveillance
* Special monitoring to prevent thefts and anti-social activities
To manage large crowds efficiently, designated parking facilities at nine locations have been arranged, along with strict traffic regulation to avoid congestion. Additionally, coastal surveillance and boat patrolling have been intensified in coordination with vigilance teams.
Medical preparedness has also been prioritized, with 24-hour ambulance services and medical teams stationed for emergencies.
These extensive arrangements reflect the police department’s dedication to ensuring a safe, secure, and seamless festive experience for all devotees and visitors.
