Rachakonda: Commissioner DS Chauhan IPS, along with DCPs, Additional DCPs, ACPs, SHOs, RIs, SIs, and the Flying Squad of Rachakonda Police, conducted a meeting today to raise awareness about security measures and precautions to be taken at the field level in light of the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana. The program, focused on the static surveillance team and other personnel, was conducted online. During the training program, the staff’s knowledge of election management procedures was assessed, and they were educated about the regulations.

Addressing the gathering, Commissioner Chauhan advised the officers to provide specific instructions regarding election duties to their subordinates and to conduct internal training sessions to ensure a clear understanding of election rules among field-level staff. He emphasized the importance of conducting the state assembly elections in a fair manner. It was recommended to set up checkpoints at strategic locations in Rachakonda and carry out thorough checks to prevent illegal transportation of excess cash without proper documentation by Executive Magistrates.

It was suggested to conduct sieges in a transparent manner. The Flying Squad and static surveillance teams were urged to remain vigilant in their duties. Officers and staff were encouraged to have a comprehensive understanding of all aspects related to election rules and to keep their teams informed about the situation at the field level. They were also advised to monitor individuals exhibiting suspicious behavior. Clear identification of critical polling centers and vulnerable areas, as well as ensuring proper handling of election management equipment, were deemed crucial for the smooth conduct of elections. Tight security measures at checkpoints and effective coordination among officials were recommended.

The installation of CC cameras in critical polling station areas, ensuring adequate infrastructure, collaborating with other government departments, and keeping a close watch on individuals with a history of disrupting elections, unruly elements, and those with a record of suspicious activities were emphasized. During the elections, any issues related to law and order, problematic social media content, potentially conflict-inducing videos, viral incidents, and minor incidents should be promptly reported to higher authorities. Staff members were reminded to remain vigilant at all times and to pay special attention to problematic villages.

Additional CP Tarun Joshi IPS, Malkajigiri DCP Darawat Janaki IPS, Rachakonda Admin DCP Indira, Additional DCP Admin Srinivasa Reddy, SB Additional DCP Rafiq, along with other officers, were present at the meeting.
