Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: The Tirunelveli District Police have taken strong action to maintain law and order by detaining two habitual offenders involved in repeated criminal activities in the Cheranmahadevi Police Station limits.
Following sustained surveillance and verification of their involvement in activities threatening public peace, the Tirunelveli Superintendent of Police submitted a detailed report recommending preventive detention. Based on this recommendation, the District Collector approved action under the Goondas Act.
Both individuals were detained on 19.11.2025 and lodged at Palayankottai Central Prison, ensuring the safety and security of local residents.
This decisive move reflects the unwavering commitment of the Tirunelveli Police to curb criminal activities and safeguard the community through firm, proactive policing.
