Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu: Setting a remarkable example of integrity, Krishnan (57), who runs a tea shop near the Cheranmahadevi bus stand, found a handbag containing ₹2,50,000 on 30.11.2025 in front of his shop. Without hesitation, he immediately handed over the bag to the Cheranmahadevi Police Station, demonstrating outstanding honesty and social responsibility.
Following the investigation, the police identified the owner as Mariyappan (30) of Railway Line Street, Cheranmahadevi, who had accidentally lost the cash. The police promptly summoned him to the station and returned the full amount safely.
Recognizing this act of honesty, Tirunelveli District Superintendent of Police N. Silambarasan, IPS, personally appreciated Krishnan. The SP honored him with a shawl, an appreciation certificate, and a reward, commending his integrity and setting a positive example for society.
The kind gesture of the police reinforces the message that good deeds deserve recognition and highlights the importance of community–police partnership in building a trustworthy and responsible society.
