Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, June 22, 2025: Demonstrating prompt response and commitment to public safety, the Vetiyaanvilai Police have launched a full-scale investigation following a gold chain snatching incident reported in Gandhiji Street.
The incident took place on Sunday afternoon when Ms. Chithra, a local school teacher, was returning home after attending the Asana festival at a nearby church. An unidentified individual, reportedly wearing a helmet and riding a two-wheeler, snatched her 11-sovereign gold thali chain and fled the scene.
Acting swiftly on her complaint, the Vetiyaanvilai Police have registered a case and are actively reviewing CCTV footage from the area. A special team has been formed to trace and apprehend the suspect.
The police have assured the public that every effort is being made to bring the culprit to justice and recover the stolen jewellery. Their proactive approach underscores their dedication to maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of residents.
