Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, November 7, 2025: In a significant achievement for the Tirunelveli District Police, three accused involved in the 2013 murder of Isakkipandi (aged 23) of Veerala Perunselvi have been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Tirunelveli Third Sessions Court.
The murder, which occurred in Konkanthanparai near Munneerpallam following a long-standing enmity between two groups, was investigated by the Munneerpallam Police Station. Based on the evidence presented during the trial, the court found the three accused — Panchandi alias Peturu Mani (40), Inbaraj alias Edward Inbaraj (40), and Muthukumar (38) — guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment, along with a fine of ₹1,500 each.
The conviction was made possible through the meticulous investigation and effective witness presentation by Cheranmahadevi Sub-Division Deputy Superintendent of Police Aswath Anto Arogyaraj, Inspectors Velraj and Chandrasekar (now Manur Police Station), and the Munneerpallam Police team.
Tirunelveli District Superintendent of Police N. Silamparasan, IPS, commended the police personnel for their dedicated investigation and professional case handling, which ensured justice for the victim and his family.
Highlighting the district’s strong record in securing convictions, SP Silamparasan noted that so far this year, Tirunelveli District Police have successfully obtained convictions in 23 murder cases, with one accused sentenced to death and 75 individuals sentenced to life imprisonment — including several with prior criminal records.
This case underscores the Tirunelveli Police’s unwavering commitment to upholding justice, maintaining law and order, and ensuring that offenders face the full force of the law.
