Krishnagiri: On 27.11.2023, the local police station in Krishnagiri carried out a search to investigate the potential illegal sale of banned tobacco products in the district. The search operation covered areas including Krishnagiri, Barkur, Nagarasambatti, Mathur, Samalpatti, Uthangarai, Guruparapalli, Hosur, and Mathigiri. During the operation, it was discovered that individuals were selling tobacco products in retail stores. As a result, 41 people were apprehended, and tobacco worth Rs. 11,200 was confiscated by the police.
