Hyderabad, Telangana, July 2025: In a proactive move to promote road safety and deter negligent driving, the Tolichowki Traffic Police conducted a surprise drunken driving drive on Tolichowki Main Road on 14.7.2025 between 3:30 PM and 6:00 PM. The operation resulted in four cases being booked.
The initiative was aimed at breaking the myth that drunk driving checks occur only during nighttime. By conducting checks during broad daylight, the Hyderabad Traffic Police seek to increase public awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence and to reduce road accidents.
Officials stated that such random, unannounced drives will continue at key and vulnerable locations to ensure the safety of commuters and pedestrians. These measures reflect the department’s commitment to strict enforcement and its resolve to make Hyderabad’s roads safer for all.
