Bengaluru City: Bengaluru, also known as Bangalore, is set to host the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the M Chinnaswamy stadium today. In anticipation of the match, the Bengaluru city traffic police department issued a fresh traffic advisory, aimed at facilitating smooth vehicular movement and ensuring the safety of commuters and fans alike.
The guidelines, which will be in effect from 12:30 pm to 9:00 pm on Saturday, entail blocking vehicular movement in certain areas and providing alternative routes to reach destinations. The department has urged residents and commuters to check the advisory and follow the specified routes to avoid any inconvenience.
To ensure the smooth flow of traffic, the Bengaluru city traffic police have listed certain roads where parking will be prohibited. These roads include Central Street Road, Cubbon Road, St Marks Road, Museum Road, Queens Road, M G Road, M G Road to Cubbon road, Rajbhavan Road, Kasturiba Road, Ambedkar Veedhi Road, Trinity Jn, Lavelle road, Vittal Malya road and Nrupathunga road. These restrictions have been put in place to avoid traffic congestion in the area.
In addition, goods vehicles from Siddalingaiah circle towards M G road will be diverted via Residency road, while KSRTC and private buses from Siddalingaiah circle towards M G road will also be diverted via Residency road. Meanwhile, goods vehicles will not be allowed to ply on Queens road, the department said.
To minimize parking-related issues, the department has designated certain parking areas for the public. These include LIB City Parking lot, Kings road, BRV Ground below metro lane, Kanteerava Stadium, BMTC Traffic Transit Management Centres (TTMC) Shivajinagar first floor, and the old KGID building. However, it is important to note that these parking spots are subject to availability.
