Bilaspur: In a proactive effort to enhance road safety and traffic management, Bilaspur district collector Avnish Sharan and Superintendent of Police Rajnesh Singh conducted an extensive inspection of the city’s black spots and busiest intersections on July 9. This inspection followed a comprehensive road safety committee meeting held earlier the same day.
During the inspection, Mr. Avnish Sharan emphasized the urgent need for improving the traffic system at Maharana Pratap Chowk, one of the city’s most congested and accident-prone areas. He outlined a series of measures aimed at streamlining traffic flow and minimizing the risk of accidents. These measures include the installation of better signage, the implementation of advanced traffic control systems, and the redesign of certain road segments to improve vehicle and pedestrian movement.
Collector Sharan also made a strong appeal to the public to adhere to traffic rules diligently. He highlighted that following these rules is crucial not only for individual safety but also for ensuring smoother traffic movement throughout the city. He stressed that reducing traffic jams and accidents requires a collective effort from both the authorities and the citizens.
To ensure the effective execution of these directives, Mr. Sharan called for a coordinated approach among the traffic police, the municipal corporation, and the transport department. He instructed these bodies to work in unison, leveraging their respective strengths and resources, to create a seamless and efficient traffic system for Bilaspur. The goal is to provide the residents with an improved commuting experience, characterized by reduced congestion and enhanced safety on the roads.
