Uttarakhand, Almora: Under the strict directives of SSP Almora, an intensive checking campaign is being conducted across the district. Almora police have taken decisive action against drivers violating traffic rules, imposing a total fine of Rs.67, 500 for 143 traffic violations on November 15, 2024.
During the inspections, bus, taxi, and private vehicle drivers were cautioned to prioritize safe travel, avoid overloading vehicles, and ensure regular maintenance. Passengers were advised to report overloading incidents by drivers or operators by calling Dial 112, emphasizing the importance of preventing accidents. Additionally, drivers were instructed to refrain from using black films on vehicle mirrors.
