As the Monsoon season approaches, the safety and preparedness of our troops to handle disasters becomes of utmost importance. The Mizoram Armed Police (MAP) understands this well, and to ensure that their troops are well-equipped to handle such situations, they have started a week-long training program on ‘Disaster Management’ for the 4th Batch of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) platoon of the 1st Battalion.
The training program is being conducted at the Battalion Headquarters, Armed Veng, Aizawl, and is imparting crucial knowledge on various topics of disaster management. The 20 personnel of the 1st Battalion of MAP-SDRF are being trained on Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR), Medical First Responder (MFR), and other essential aspects of disaster management.
It is noteworthy that the Mizoram Armed Police has already conducted similar training programs for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd batches, which included a total of 60 personnel. This effort highlights the commitment and dedication of the MAP towards ensuring the safety of their troops and the community they serve.
The training program is commendable, and Team 1st Bn. MAP deserves appreciation for their efforts. It sets a great example for all other Battalions to follow and replicate. It is a proactive step towards disaster management and showcases the commitment of the MAP to serve the community in the best possible way.
The efforts of the MAP towards disaster management are indeed commendable and are a testament to their commitment towards the safety and well-being of the citizens of Mizoram. The training program will ensure that the troops are well-prepared to handle disasters and provide timely and efficient assistance to those in need.
