Rachakonda: A training program was organized at Vigyan Bharti College in Ghatkesar for senior officers and staff at all levels under the Rachakonda jurisdiction. The program aimed to provide comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the new procedures to be followed in the investigation and trial of various cases, in light of the Government of India’s new Criminal Laws-2023, effective from July 1st. High Court Advocate Suresh briefed the staff on the new laws.

Commissioner Mr. Tarun Joshi IPS stated during the program that the implementation of the new Criminal Laws-2023 marks the beginning of a new era in internal security for India. He highlighted that these new laws would transform investigation methods and enhance the efficiency and promptness of services provided to the public. He also noted that despite India’s independence, the criminal justice system and law enforcement have largely adhered to colonial-era laws. Over the years, the Indian judiciary has faced numerous challenges, necessitating the creation of various laws for public safety. The new laws, such as the Indian Law Code, Indian Civil Protection Code, and Indian Evidence Act, represent significant milestones in maintaining law and order in the country.

All officers and staff under Rachakonda must thoroughly understand the new criminal laws. Legal texts related to the Indian Law Code, Indian Civil Protection Code, and Indian Evidence Act have been distributed to all police stations under the Rachakonda Commissionerate, including DCPs, Additional DCPs, ACPs, and other police departments. Everyone is directed to study the new provisions diligently.

It has been mandated that under no circumstances should outdated procedures that contradict the new laws be followed. Cases should be registered according to the new sections. Officials are instructed to thoroughly learn the new sections. The new laws do not entirely overhaul existing procedures but incorporate necessary changes to expedite case registration, sentencing, and trial methods, considering current and future societal needs. Internal training programs on the new laws are advised to be conducted at every station. Zone-wise review programs on these new penal laws will also be organized. High Court Advocate Suresh later provided further instructions to the officials.

The program was attended by Yadadri DCP Rajesh Chandra IPS, DCP Malkajgiri Padmaja IPS, LB Nagar DCP Praveen IPS, SB DCP Karunakar, DCP Maheshwaram Sunitha Reddy, Crime DCP Arvind Babu, Additional DCPs, ACPs, and other officers.
