Trichy: Trichy City Police Commissioner Mr. G. Karthikeyan, IPS, since he took charge as the Trichy City Police Commissioner, in order to maintain law and order in Trichy City, the rioters who engage in illegal activities, the miscreants who engage in criminal activities, engage in confiscation of cell phones, theft of cell phones. Appropriate instructions were issued to Trichy Deputy Commissioners of Police North and South, Assistant Commissioners of Goods and Police Inspectors to continue to take strict legal action against those involved in cell phone theft.
Accordingly, 56 cases have been registered against the criminals involved in cell phone confiscation and cell phone theft incidents in Trichy city after threatening the public in public places, investigating the suspects, conducting serious vehicle audits, and investigating the CCTV records in Trichy city. A case has been registered against 98 criminals, the accused have been arrested and sent to judicial custody. Also 80 cell phones have been recovered from criminals involved in cell phone theft and robberies. Also, 14 criminals who have been involved in the incidents of stealing cell phones by threatening the public have been arrested under the Gangster Prevention Act on the orders of the Commissioner of Police Mr. G. Karthikeyan, IPS.
