Trivandrum: The Kochi Cyber Police rescued a woman who tried to commit suicide by sharing a video on Instagram within minutes. A woman from Thiruvananthapuram Karamana was saved by the intervention of the police. The suicide attempt came to the attention of Meta, the parent company of social media like Instagram and Facebook, and they informed the cyber cell.
The incident happened yesterday evening. The Meta authorities gave the information to the Kochi Cyber Police that a young woman in Kerala was trying to commit suicide live on Instagram. Along with the video, the IP address of the woman was also handed over to Meta Team Cyber Cell. The cyber cell identified them after checking the profile of the woman.
This information was then forwarded to Chertala and Karamana police stations as per the instructions of the City Police Commissioner. Police teams from both stations went out to find the woman. Then the police found her and rescued her from Thiruvananthapuram Karamana and shifted her to a safe place. The Police said suicide is not a solution to anything. Seek help from mental health professionals and try to survive.
